New safety rules mandate Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems (AVAS) for electric vehicles, including e-rickshaws and e-karts, from October 2026. This move aims to enhance pedestrian safety by ensuring EVs, which are nearly silent at low speeds, are audible.
